Vaping every now and then? A lot less innocent than it seems.

The worldwide introduction of the e-cigarette was a promotion for a healthier alternative for the smoker.
Because the well-known carcinogens such as tar and carbon monoxide are not present in the e-cigarette.
Fortunately, we now know better, but are we perhaps too late with this?

Various studies have now shown that the e-cigarette is not a healthy alternative to smoking.
To begin with, the danger of addiction to the e-cigarette is enormous.
A single e-cigarette contains almost as much nicotine as a pack of 20 ‘regular’ cigarettes.
Newer vapes contain nicotine salt, which goes directly to your brain and is addictive even faster.

In addition, the industry is responding to the addiction susceptibility of young people by adding colors, different flavors and even lights to the e-cigarettes.
Add to this the TikTok videos in which they use #vapetricks to encourage young people to practice vaping, and the addiction is there.

Vaping raises your blood pressure and doubles the risk of a heart attack, and it also has a strong negative effect on your cholesterol levels.
There are – especially mental – short-term effects such as memory and concentration disorders, anxiety and panic and the risk of depression is 2 to 3 times greater than with non-vapers.

From the beginning of 2024, there will be a ban (in the Netherlands) on the sale of the e-cigarettes with attractive colors and flavors such as strawberry ice cream, mango and mojito.
Only the tobacco flavour will then be available, which will hopefully make the e-cigarette less attractive among young people.

The UK government’s decision to ban disposable vapes by 2024 is a proactive measure to combat the environmental impact caused by the growing use of single-use vaping devices. Disposable vapes, also known as e-cigarettes, have gained popularity in recent years due to their convenience and ease of use. However, their widespread adoption has led to a surge in plastic waste, as these devices are typically made of non-recyclable materials.
They will also look into banning flavors
